Located in the southern Okinawa region, the facility conducts approximately 28,000 health checkups annually. Following his appointment as Center Director in April 2023, Dr. Makoto Suzuki (at the time of interview) launched a medical DX (digital transformation) project aiming to achieve full digitization of non-medical tasks by April 2025, to eliminate the extensive manual workload associated with printing, enveloping, and mailing checkup results. As part of this initiative, the center introduced NOBORI PHR (Personal Health Record). Among various competing solutions, the deciding factors included not only cost advantages for both the medical institution and patients, but also the system’s ability to share images of patients requiring further examinations or diagnosis with other facilities, as well as convenient functions for online appointment booking and payment.
The system was introduced in November 2023, and as of February 2025, approximately 8,000 people—about 30% of the annual examinees—are registered. The convenience of being able to view all test results on a smartphone has been highly appreciated by patients, and the center has already seen visible improvements in operational efficiency and cost reduction brought by digitization. As the first facility in Okinawa Prefecture to implement PHR, the system has attracted interest from neighboring affiliated facilities, gaining positive feedback towards adoption.
In addition, with the aim of promoting cloud utilization across the entire Yuuaikai Group, the center took the lead in the organization by introducing Cloud PACS in February 2025. Looking ahead, the corporation plans to enable centralized management of patient data across the group and support cross-facility data sharing and image interpretation.
By consolidating all patient medical information—previously stored separately—into a single lifelong platform accessible by any medical institution, the group seeks to remodel its healthcare service, whereby PSP’s cloud will play an indispensable role.
